DISCOVER THE ROLES OF PRIMITIVE REFLEXES

Led by Laura Walls, M.S., CCC-SLP, this virtual course explores the often-overlooked role of primitive reflex retention and re-emergence in adult patients. Participants will learn the neuroscience behind reflex integration, how specific reflexes can present as musculoskeletal, neurological, vestibular, or emotional concerns, and how these patterns may connect to TMJD, headaches, airway function, posture, and chronic symptoms.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Learn to recognize and understand retained or re-emerged primitive reflexes and their potential impact on adult neurological, musculoskeletal, vestibular, and airway-related concerns.

Understand Adult Primitive Reflex Re-Emergence

Explore the neurological mechanisms behind primitive reflex retention and re-emergence in adults, including how concussion, chronic illness, surgery, prolonged stress, and other neurological stressors can affect reflex integration and adult function.

Recognize Hidden Reflex Patterns

Learn how to identify the clinical presentations of the Moro, ATNR, STNR, TLR, Spinal Galant, and Fear Paralysis Reflex, and how these patterns may contribute to anxiety, sensory hypersensitivity, postural instability, vestibular dysfunction, chronic tension, and pain.

Connect Reflexes to Complex Conditions

Examine how retained or re-emerged reflexes may overlap with chronic headaches, TMJD, jaw dysfunction, tongue posture, airway concerns, musculoskeletal dysfunction, and lingering symptoms following concussion or neurological injury.

Expand Your Clinical Assessment Approach

Develop a framework for recognizing neurological patterns that may be overlooked in conventional adult care and learn how primitive reflex assessment can complement existing approaches to evaluation and treatment.
